What age is Clueling for?
Clueling is written for kids ages 6 to 9.
What's in each letter?
A letter from that month's pen pal, a recipe card from their kitchen, and a puzzle with the tool needed to solve it.
Is the mail addressed to my child?
Yes. The envelope and the letter are both addressed to your child by name.
Does my child need the earlier letters?
No. Every letter is a complete story, so your child can start any month.
Will my child need help reading it?
Most kids ages 6 to 9 can read the letter on their own or with a little help. Many families read it together.
How hard are the puzzles and recipes?
Each puzzle comes with the tool needed to solve it. The recipes are easy enough for a child to make alone or with a grown-up nearby.
The Friends
Are the pen pals real children?
No. Amara, Einar, Hana and Lucas are fictional characters. Their letters are written to feel like mail from a friend.
Can my child write back?
Not yet. The letters travel one way for now.
Who will my child hear from?
Four friends take turns through the year: Amara in Kenya, Einar in Iceland, Hana in Japan and Lucas in Brazil.
Gifts
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. You can buy a plan for a child at a different mailing address.
Can I buy for more than one child?
Yes. One account can hold plans for up to ten children. Each child gets their own envelope, addressed to them, even at the same address.
Plans and Billing
What plans do you offer?
4 months for $52, 8 months for $88, or 12 months for $120.
How do I pay?
You pay once, up front, for the plan you choose. The plan renews when it ends unless you cancel.
Does my plan renew automatically?
Yes. Your plan renews at the end of its 4, 8, or 12 months unless you cancel before then.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel any time from your account. Your plan will not renew, and your child still gets every letter you have already paid for. Plans are paid up front and are not refundable.
Can I pause my plan?
Yes. Pausing holds your letters, and the paused months do not count against your plan. Your remaining letters pick up again when you unpause.
When does Clueling launch?
November 2026. Join the waitlist and we will email you when plans open.
How does the waitlist discount work?

Shipping
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the United States.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping is free.
When will each letter arrive?
Letters travel by USPS and usually arrive 5 to 10 business days after they are mailed.
What if a letter gets lost?
Letters go by USPS First Class Mail, which has no tracking. A letter mailed to the address you gave us counts as delivered, so we are unable to replace or refund it. Please keep your child's address up to date in your account.
What if I join in the middle of a month?
Your child gets that month's letter soon after you buy. After that, letters go out at the start of each month.
